About SELA
At Suffolk University Law School in Boston, MA, the Sports & Entertainment Law Association (SELA) is a student organization dedicated to connecting students with the world of sports and entertainment law through education, experience, and community. SELA hosts keynote speakers and panel discussions featuring industry professionals who share insights into their careers, pathways into the field, and emerging legal issues. The organization also organizes networking and social events, maintains strong relationships with passionate local alumni, and competes in prominent sports and entertainment law competitions with other universities.

Industry professionals will share what it’s really like to build a career in entertainment law outside of Big Law. The panel will include attorneys from LaPolt Law, a firm based in West Hollywood, CA, whose work spans across music, TV, and film. These attorneys will share how they got started, the skills that matter the most in practice, and what day-to-day work actually looks like in this space.
Both Sides of the Ball: Careers in Sports Business In and Out of the Legal Field
October 28th at 6pm
Room 385 Sargent Hall at Suffolk University Law School
Mandy Petrillo (Assistant General Counsel, Fenway Sports Group), Casey Blossom (VP of Brand, Marketing & Communications, NESN), and Goldwyn Harper (Content Distribution, NESN) will share their career paths, discuss how legal and business teams work together, and explain how a JD can be a competitive advantage even outside the legal field. A Q&A will follow, and all law students are welcome.
